EAC certification for Data Storage Equipment is not that easy that may seem, but WWG has a wide experience in such cases. Here is a scheme of EAC certification for this type of equipment. Data Storage Equipment falls under TR CU 004/2011 “On safety of low-voltage equipment” and TR CU 020/2011 «Electromagnetic compatibility of technical equipment», so they require Certificate of conformity with these TR CUs.

From January 1, the Order № 478 entered into force (except for certain provisions). The document establishes new uniform rules for registering declarations with the requirements of technical regulations of the Russian Federation and EAC standards.

According to the approved decision, the effective date for TR CU 048/2019 “On requirements for energy efficiency of energy-consuming devices” will be postponed from September 1 2021 to September 1 2022.

On December 18, 2020, the Order of the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) No. 186 dated December 15, 2020 was officially published and became effective. This Order approves draft amendments to the standard conformity assessment schemes.

From January, 1st, 2021, the new procedure for EAC Certificates which are to be registered in Russia enters into force. Please be advised that this new procedure is valid both for EAC and Russian National approval documents registered in Russia. The procedure of registration of EAC certificates in other countries of Customs Union countries remains as it was.

The EEC Council approved the technical regulations of the Eurasian Economic Union "On requirements for trunk pipelines for the transportation of liquid and gaseous hydrocarbons" related to TR CU 032/2013 “On safety of the equipment operating under excessive pressure” (“PED”). It will enter into force on July 1, 2021.

Starting from January 1st 2021 new marking requirements for light industry products for Russia take effect. Certain items of light industry products will need to be marked with a special matrix code before they are imported in Russia and released into the Russian market.

Cameras that are used in hazardous locations must be certified in accordance with Technical Regulation of the Customs Union “On safety of the equipment operating in hazardous environment” (TR CU 012/2011 EAC).

From January, 1st, 2021, the new order of Ministry of Economic Development of Russia enters into force. This order establishes the new procedure of registration for EAC Declarations. According to the new procedure, a declaration should be registered by the applicants themselves with use of digital signature.

New lists of standards have been adopted for the technical regulations for explosion-proof equipment. On December 7, 2020, the 158th decision of the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission was published, which approved new lists of standards for voluntary and mandatory compliance with the requirements of the technical regulations of the Union TR CU 12 “On safety of equipment operating in hazardous environments”.

Air hoists (also known as pneumatic hoists) that are exported to the countries Eurasian Customs Union are subject to mandatory EAC TR CU certification of conformity. Conformity documents should be obtained prior to exporting or selling the equipment to these countries.

Drying machines for industrial use (for instance, in laundries, hotels, hospitals or large enterprises) require Declaration of Conformity with TR CU 010/2011 “On safety of machinery and equipment” + TR CU 004/2011 “Low-voltage equipment” + TR CU 020/2011 “Electromagnetic compatibility”. Drying machines for household use require Certificate of Conformity with TR CU 004/2011 “Low-voltage equipment” + TR CU 020/2011 “Electromagnetic compatibility”.
