On November 25, 2022, the decision of the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) No. 181 of November 22, 2022 was officially published. It approved a new program for the development, revision and amendment of standards for Technical Regulation of the Customs Union (TR CU 004/2011) "On the safety of low-voltage equipment".
The updated program replaces the one approved by the decision of the EEC Board No. 295 on December 25, 2012. The new edition includes 221 positions on the amendment, revision and development of standards. The updated standards are based on the adoption of IEC, EN and EC standards.
In general, the program is designed for 7 years: from 2022 to 2028. The update on each standard in most cases takes about 1-2 years.
The list includes the update of standards for general safety requirements for low-voltage equipment, as well as private requirements for a specific type of product:
- cable networks for the transmission of sound and television signals and interactive services;
- light garlands;
- switches for fixed electrical installations for domestic and similar purposes;
