Case study: EAC Declaration of Keyboard TR CU 020/2011 EMC and TR CU 037/2016 RoHS
According to the regulation of the Customs Union TR CU 020/2011 “Electromagnetic compatibility”, equipment that generates electromagnetic interference must undergo an obligatory certification procedure. Depending on the type of product and the requirements of the regulations, the applicant (manufacturer, importer) should provide a certificate or declaration of conformity to export their products to EAC market.
The regulation contains a list of technical means for which a certificate of conformity should be issued. Keypads are not included in this list, so they are subject to declaration.
Moreover, as electronic computers and devices connected to them, including their combinations to which the keyboard belongs, this product is subject to TR CU 037/2016 “RoHS”
In order to register a declaration on keyboard in the register of the national accreditation system, the applicant will need to prepare a package of documents. The kit includes:
- Normative and technical documentation;
- Factory test reports or samples;
- Operational documents;
- Additional documents may be required; it depends on the declaration scheme.
We also recommend issuing a technical passport for this regulation. This document is not mandatory for the registration of the Declaration. However, according to the requirements of TR CU, a technical passport is one of the mandatory operational documents needed for the keyboard exploitation and requested by the final client. Therefore, we propose issuing passports if the manufacturer does not have his own.
It is possible to issue a declaration either for a batch of products or for a longer period from 1 to 5 years. Only a Russian importer can be an applicant for batch certification.
To issue a declaration, the applicant sends the prepared kit to the certification body for the registration procedure. Please note, the applicant can only be a resident of the Customs Union. WWG offers a Local Representative Service to provide you with the necessary support. Experts analyze the information received, check the correctness of filling out the declaration, and then register the permit document in the register. After the registration is completed, the applicant prints and certifies this document with his signature and seal of the organization.
After passing all the procedures and receiving the EAC declaration of conformity on keypads, the products can be freely sold on the territory of any country that is a member of the Eurasian Economic Union (Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Armenia, Kyrgyzstan)
If you would like to export your products to EAC market, WWG will be glad to help you obtain necessary conformity documents.
