Case Study: EAC Certification For Sewing Machines TR CU 010/2011, TR CU 004/2011 and TR CU 020/2011 | WWG
EAC certification for sewing machines is not that easy that may seem, but WWG has a wide experience in such cases. Here is a scheme of EAC certification for this type of equipment.
Sewing machines for domestic use fall under TR CU 004/2011 “On safety of low-voltage equipment” and TR CU 020/2011 «Electromagnetic compatibility of technical equipment», so they require Certificate of conformity with these TR CUs.
According to TR CU 004, low-voltage equipment refers to electrical equipment intended for use at rated voltage from 50 to 1000 V of an alternating current and from 75 to 1500 V of a direct current.
Sewing machines for industrial use are also subjects to TR CU 010/2011 "On safety of machines and equipment". Please be advised that TR CU 010/2011 always requires Safety Justification. Safety Justification is a document containing analysis of possible risks as well as technical information on measures of ensuring safety of the equipment.
Please be advised that Sewing machines for industrial use require Declaration of conformity with TR CU 010/2011 as well as TR CUs 004/2011 and 020/2011. Usually all these TR CUs can be merged to one Declaration.
If sewing machine for industrial use does not use electricity, then it requires only Declaration of conformity with TR CU 010/2011.
