New GOST Standards on Safety of PPE Were Approved for EAC TR CU 019
The Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission officially published a decision No. 30 On March 5th and adopted updated versions of the lists of standards for TR CU 019/2011 "On safety of personal protective equipment."
The document was approved on March 3rd, 2020. It will take effect starting from April 4, 2020.
Previously accepted GOSTs for this technical regulation are now recognized as invalid. Initially the lists of standards for PPE were adopted together with the regulation itself in the decision of the Customs Union Commission No. 878 of December 9, 2011.
314 standards were included in the new list for voluntary application of compliance with TR CU 019/2011. The previous edition of the list dated March 6, 2018, consisted of total 304 items.
The updated list of standards for testing methods of protective equipment includes 754 items. Before that only 740 were used. The list includes GOSTs for in vitro and in vivo methods for sunscreen cosmetics to determine the value of the protective factor against ultraviolet radiation of spectrum A, sun protection factor (SPF) on living organisms.
In addition, the standards describe the order of necessary tests that verify the safety of personal protective equipment. Some of which include:
- Method for determining the resistance to dry cleaning in special fabrics;
- Test methods for optical and non-optical parameters in PPE for eye protection;
- Methods for determining and evaluating the directed effectiveness of dermatological personal protective equipment of a cleansing type;
- Methods for determining the stability of the emulsion in cosmetics, etc.
