Case Study: EAC Certification of Electron Microscopes | TR CU 004 LVD + 020 EMC
Electron microscopes are becoming increasingly popular among laboratories, educational and state institutions. Such microscopes allow to obtain high-resolution images of biological and non-biological specimens.
There are various types of electron microscopes, and one of the most prominent ones is scanning electron microscope, or SEM. A number of EAC approvals are required to import scanning electron microscopes into the Customs Union (Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Armenia).
In case of scanning electron microscopes, a Declaration of conformity with the following technical regulations is required:
- TR CU 004/2011 “On safety of low-voltage equipment” (LVD)
- TR CU 020/2011 “Electromagnetic compatibility of technical means” (EMC)
Test samples will not be required to register the Declaration. It will only be necessary to provide factory test reports on the equipment, and based on these documents, test reports according to EAC requirements will be elaborated (1d Scheme).
In order to issue a Declaration of conformity with TR CU 004 LVD and 020 EMC, technical documents in Russian will be required. WWG would be glad to help you translate or elaborate such documents, for instance, technical passport, which can be elaborated either in Russian only, or in both English and Russian.
Please also note that starting from September 1, 2021, GLN (Global Location Number) is required to register all declarations of conformity in the Customs Union. If there is no GLN assigned to your company yet, WWG will be happy to help you obtain GLNs for all production sites (if any).
