EAC Certification for Serial Port Bluetooth Adapter | WWG 2020
There are a lot of adapters exported to countries of Customs Union (Russia, Kazakhstan, Belarus, Armenia and Kyrgyzstan). Here is the description for EAC Certification scheme for Bluetooth serial port adapter for devices that need to communicate without cable connections.
Let us start with TR CU documents that are required to distribute the product in Customs Union. This type of adapter is subject to TR CU 020/2011 “Electromagnetic compatibility of technical means”. Conformity with this TR CU should be registered in the form of Declaration. Lead up time is 10-15 working days for the Declarations and 5-15 working days for test reports.
This type of adapter has supply voltage less then 50V, so it does not require conformity with TR CU 004/2011 “On safety of low-voltage equipment”. If your adapter has supply voltage more than 50 V, Declaration of conformity with TR CU 004/2011 LVD is required. Usually TR CU 004/2011 and 020/2011 can be united to one DoC.
Due to EAC legislation only residents of Customs Union can submit an application to Certification Body in order to register EAC Declaration. If your company is not resident of Customs Union, WWG offers Local representative service and submits necessary documents for you.
Since the product is equipped with Bluetooth module, you should receive approval documents from Federal Security Service (FSS, FSB). In this case FSS will issue a Notification in order to confirm that used type of encryption is safe. Usually, we prepare all documents which are necessary to receive FSS notification by ourselves: notification draft, cover letter, electronic copy of the notification. Lead up time for FSS Notification is 15-20 working days after we are provided with hard copy with the Power of Attorney.
Please also note that TR CU and FSS documents are strictly required to pass the customs. Without these documents the product cannot pass the customs clearance.
The Bluetooth adapter also requires TELECOM declaration. From our experience TELECOM declaration can be not required for customs clearance. This document is required only if device is planned to be used in communication networks and / or to be sold to communications provider. Lead up time for TELECOM declaration is up to 45 days.
Please be advised that for TELECOM and FSS Documents WWG offers Local representative service for free.
