Certification in Kyrgyzstan
Kyrgyzstan became a member of the Customs Union in 2015. In order to ensure gradual implementation of the technical regulations of the Customs union a transition period of 6 months was set.
Customs Union legislation will be fully implemented in 2019. In many cases, national certificates are similar to the Russian GOST-R, but there are some differences.
For example, certificates in Kyrgyzstan, as these of Kazakhstan, expire within 3 years maximum. Both residents and non-residents of the country can apply for certification.
Decree of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan №639 stipulates the list of the products subject to mandatory quality confirmation. In order to market a product in the territory of Kyrgyzstan a certificate or a declaration of conformity should be obtained.
For particular groups of goods a Fire Safety certificate, State Registry certificate or aт Application Permit is necessary.
The main body coordinating standardization within Kyrgyzstan is the Center of standards and metrology at the Ministry of Economy and anti-trust policy.
