ROSSTANDART Published the Results of the Meeting on Standardization of Toys and Goods for Children | November 2019
November 12 2019, Rosstandart has published the results of the meeting on standardization of toys and goods for children.
The participants of the meeting examined the program of standardization of goods for children for 2020: development of new interstate standards, amendments to existing regulatory documents, including the main technical regulations of the Customs Union TR CU 007/2011 “On safety of products intended for children and adolescents”, TR CU 008/2011 “On safety of toys” and TR CU 025/2012 “On safety of furniture”.
The main emphasis was made on the lack of unified standards and requirements for products intended for education of children, furniture for kindergartens. Due to the fact that the model range of furniture designs offered by Russian manufacturers does not coincide with foreign products, two divisions have to be developed simultaneously, which leads to higher prices for goods and reduce the efficiency of enterprises.
Many standards that were approved back in the 1970s will be subject to revision. Since that time, the physiology of children has changed and the functional dimensions of furniture need to be updated.
As for books and magazines for children and adolescents, the participants of the meeting concluded that the revision urgent and the approval of new GOSTs was urgent for the region, since many hygienic requirements for printed products for children were outdated. In addition, they discussed the idea of development of separate technical regulation for children's books.
A separate topic of the meeting was the examination of the possibility of using recycled materials in manufacturing of toys for children. In order to allow the reuse of materials, it is necessary not only to develop the documents, but the special methods for testing goods from recycled materials.
