Directions for development of cooperation in agroindustrial economics for the business of the EAEU countries
The participants of the round table “Perspectives of import substitution in the agroindustrial complex of the Members States of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU)” discussed the development and promotion of agroindustrial production. This event was organized by the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) in partnership with Commission of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs on the agroindustrial complex and International Congress of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs.
Today, the import is 61% of the total turnover of the EAEU countries. Usually, these goods can be produced on the territory of the Union. In money terms, about 26,5 billion dollars are spent for procurement.
The participants of the round table discussed the possibility to change this situation. It was noted that it is necessary to update and improve domestic agricultural means of production and material-technical resources; to modernize and transit to an innovative development of the industry; to perform a diversification of production, including the application of technologies for deep and complex processing of food raw materials.
It was suggested to create cooperative project for deep integration in food micro-ingredients development in the EAEU. Special attention was paid to the possibility of combining small and medium-sized manufacturers of food products of the EAEU countries into a single network, creating favorable sales conditions for them.
