Changes in TR CU 012/2011 “On safety of equipment for work in explosive environments”
On May 7, 2019 begins a public discussion on the draft amendments No. 1 to the technical regulation of the Customs Union “On safety of equipment for work in explosive environments” (TR CU 012/2011).
The changes are aimed at adding to the regulation the requirements for cable products and electronic devices used in methane gas hazardous mines.
The relevant items were added to the list of definitions of the regulation, and namely cables for external and internal electrical circuits. In addition, the draft amendment provides for the updating of the scope of the regulation (Article 1) and certain standards of explosion safety (Article 4).
Thus, the scope of the regulation was replenished with electrical installations for work in potentially explosive atmospheres, as well as composite equipment and Ex-components for nuclear weapons, ships and personal protective equipment. Public discussion of the document will last until July 16, 2019.
