Can a local expert perform a site audit for EAC certification?
We are often asked if the local expert can perform the site audit for EAC certification. When applying for certificates with 1, 3 or 5-year validity, a site audit might be required to confirm quality management at the production. In fact, a site audit must be conducted by an expert who has accreditation for Technical Regulation of the Customs Union (TR CU). Usually, the local experts even if they represent international laboratory do not have such accreditation.
The number of experts and days for site audit may differ depending on the certification type. However, usually, the site audit is performed once, before obtaining the certificate. Sometimes site audit can be conducted together with testing on the site which saves a lot of time and money.
