Certification in Belarus
Similar to that of Russian Federation, the Republic of Belarus has the system of certification comprising national certification system and EAC certification system. When Belarus became a member of the Customs Union in 2010, corresponded Technical Regulations took effect. Some types of goods were excluded from national quality confirmation in favor of EAC technical requirements. Belarus accepts both certificates and declarations of conformity with the technical regulations of the Customs Union, as well as Certificates of State Registration.
On national level the quality of products is to be in compliance with the Standards of the Republic of Belarus (STB, BelGOST). Implementation of quality requirements is under strict supervision of the National Committee on Standardization of the Republic of Belarus.
As for TR CU, there are two types of approval documents which can be issued by accredited certification bodies: a declaration or a certificate of conformity. Both can be either voluntary or mandatory. Please note that marketing of the product subject to mandatory certification in the absence of required approvals is strictly prohibited. If goods are not subject to quality requirements, then the exemption letter should be issued.
It is to mention that, according to a bilateral agreement between Belarus and Russia, GOST R certificates in Declarations are recognized and accepted in Belarus, given that certified products have been manufactured on the territory of the Russian Federation.
