In 2020 electrical and radio-electric products in EACU should comply with RoHS
From March 1, 2020 electrical and radio electronics products in the Eurasian Economic Union should comply with the requirements of the TR CU 037/2016 “On the restriction of the use of hazardous substances in electrotechnical and radio-electric products”.
This technical regulation limits the content of six types of substances - lead, cadmium, mercury, hexavalent chromium, polybrominated biphenyls and polybrominated diphenyl ethers in electrical and radio electronic products.
It is applied to household appliances and devices, IT equipment, telecommunications, lighting and office equipment, power tools (including music instruments), equipment for leisure and sports, venders and gaming machines, cash management equipment, cable products, protective cutout devices (RCDs), fire alarm systems, etc., i.e. products manufactured and imported in large quantities and, as a result, comprise the main level of consumption of hazardous substances in the electrical industry.
TR CU 037/2016 “On the restriction of the use of hazardous substances in electrotechnical and radio-electric products” has been developed to protect human life and health and the environment, as well as to prevent actions that mislead consumers of electrical and electronic products regarding the content of hazardous substances in them. To improve competitiveness and expand the export capacity of domestic producers, the EAEU TR 037/2016 is harmonized with the requirements of the technical legislation of the European Union, in particular with Directive 2011/65/EU (RoHS 2), however, some features, primarily related to the scope, are kept at of the repealed Directive 2002/95/EU (RoHS 1).
