When it comes to lifting equipment, HS code and technical description are important to quote required approvals for the Russian market.
Usually lifting equipment falls under technical regulation of the Customs Union TR CU 010/2011 “On safety of machinery and equipment”. At the same time, “hoisting-and-transport equipment”, “hoisting cranes” require Certificate 010 TR CU; whereas "Devices for lifting operations" can require either a Declaration or a Certificate 010 TR CU.

This article will describe the procedure of getting a Voluntary GOST R Certificate.
The list of necessary documents to get a Voluntary GOST R Certificate:
- Application (completed by WWG);
- Operational documents with equipment characteristics (technical passport, manual or instruction);
- Photo of the product and its marking;
- ISO certificate (if any);
- Certificates and declarations of conformity with the EU Directives (if any).
Applicant for a Voluntary GOST R can be foreign manufacturer.
Voluntary GOST R Certificate is not mandatory for a customs clearance, but it may be required for sales. In Russia it is considered to be a significant benefit among Russian buyers.
Maximum validity of a Voluntary GOST R Certificate: 3 years
