Systematic notification of unsafe products in the CU countries will begin with cars, products for children and adolescents, dairy and meat
The Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) has launched a pilot project to establish a system for informing about products that do not meet the requirements of the technical regulations of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU). This was stated by Viktor Nazarenko, member of the Board (Minister) for technical regulation of the EEC, in Moscow at the All-Russian Forum “National Accreditation System: Forming the Trust Infrastructure in Russia and on International Markets”.
For unsafe products that do not meet the requirements of the unified technical regulations identified in one of the Member States, the state control authorities will take appropriate measures, up to its withdrawal from circulation throughout the Union territory.
The pilot project is planned to be tested on six technical regulations of the Customs Union regulating the safety of low-voltage equipment, products for children and adolescents, toys, wheeled vehicles, as well as dairy and meat products.
Analyzing the reasons for the emergence of unsafe products on the Union’s market, the minister of the Eurasian Economic Union connected this situation with the actions of unreliable certification bodies in assessing product compliance with technical regulations.
