New changes in the list of low-voltage equipment that is a subject to EAC certification
On March 25, 2019, new decision of the board of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) No. 41 was officially published. The decision shows the changes in the lists of equipment that requires a certificate of conformity with the technical regulations of the Customs Union “On the safety of low-voltage equipment” (TR CU 004/2011) and “Electromagnetic Compatibility of Technical Means” (TR CU 020/2011).
The document was adopted on March 19 of this year. The lists will be applied from April 24, 2019.
Changes relate to lighting equipment. Thus, according to the changes, the new edition contains several points:
- Lamps for aquariums and garden ponds;
- Lamps for general use; electric lamps, including incandescent, LED and fluorescent;
- Spotlights; lamps, recessed into the ground;
- Household garlands.
It is important to highlight that according to the standards of technical regulations, the conformity assessment of equipment is carried out, both in the form of certification and in the form of declaration. At the same time there are no clear lists of products for which the declaration is registered. Based on the clause 2 of Article 7 of the regulations, low-voltage equipment that doesn’t require certificate of conformity, is subject to declaration of conformity (schemes 1d, 2d, 3d, 4d, 6d).
