Recommendations on marking of shoes exported to Russia
The Minister of Industry and Trade signed recommendations on marking of shoes by means of identification on September 3, 2018 within the framework of the current pilot project on marking and monitoring the turnover of footwear products.
It refers to products with HS code 6401-6405: waterproof shoes, the top of which is not attached to the sole; sports shoes with uppers or soles of rubber and plastic; home shoes; shoes with leather upper, etc.
The marking of products shall be performed during the production of the product, before shipment from the manufacturing site and before crossing of Russian customs.
It is noted that the code of marking applied to the consumer package or directly to the products should include: product identification number, individual serial number, HS code, Verification key, Electronic signature of the System Operator.
The participants of the pilot project should submit the following information to the system:
- types of materials used to make the bottom, top and shoe lining;
- sole material;
- type of shoes;
- model (indicated in the certificate or declaration of conformity);
- brand and country of production;
- size in the Stiichass system and other signs.
The marking of shoes by means of identification is the second stage of voluntary pilot project, which will become an obligatory process from July 1, 2019.
The footwear is subject to the technical regulations of the Customs Union "On the Safety of Light Industry Products" (TR CU 017/2011). According to its requirements, adult footwear is subject to mandatory declaration of conformity.
