EAEU creates digital trading ecosystem
The Eurasian Intergovernmental Council held a meeting in Armenia on April 30. The main topics of the discussion were:
- Implementation of the digital agenda of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU);
- Removal of barriers to the domestic market of the EAEU;
- Industrial cooperation and trade;
- Customs cooperation.
The members of the Intergovernmental Council approved the launch of the project “Eurasian network of industrial cooperation, subcontracting and technology transfer”. Thus, for the first time a digital ecosystem is being formed in the EAEU (the Customs Union), which allows the member-countries to have their own digital platform.
The implementation of the digital agenda was regarded as one of the strategic areas of cooperation. “In particular, we believe that creating of our own Eurasian ecosystems can contribute to the development of digital services,” said the Prime Minister of Armenia, a member of the EAEU.
