EAC TR CU 032/2013 “PED” and 010/2011 “Machinery” for Pressure Tanks
Pressure tanks which are designed and equipped for storage of contents at high pressure are subject to Technical regulation of the Customs Union (TR CU 032/2013) “On safety of products operating under excessive pressure” and (TR CU 010/2011) “On safety of machinery and equipment”.
Depending on characteristics of the equipment, such as Design pressure, Volume (m3), Medium (liquid, gas, or vapor) and Working environment group (1 or 2), a tank is assigned to one of 4 categories. A similar categorization is presented in European Pressure Equipment Directive (PED) (2014/68/EU).
The tanks of categories 1 and 2 are subject to Declaration of conformity with TR CU 032/2013. Such type of approval is obtained based on sample testing. If samples are too big, testing is performed during the site audit.
The tanks which are considered to be of categories 3 and 4 are subject to Certificate of conformity with TR CU 032/2013. In order to obtain Certificate, the site audit must be organized.
If pressure characteristics of tanks are low, the product may be not subject to TR CU 032/2013. In such case only Declaration of conformity with TR CU 010/2011 is applicable. Moreover, we recommend obtaining an Exemption decision which would approve the fact that the product is not subject to TR CU 032/2013. It helps to pass the customs clearance smoothly.
In any case, Justification of safety (JoS) must be elaborated for this product. Sometimes, in addition to JoS, the final client can request for Technical passport.
WWG can assist in registration of applicable TR CU and elaboration of all required technical documents.
