EAC TR CU 012 Certification of Equipment with Multiple Ex-proof Components | 2020
Explosion proof equipment exported or sold in countries of Eurasian Customs Union (Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Armenia, Kyrgyzstan) that is intended for use in hazardous environment is subject to EAC Technical Regulation of the Customs Union 012/2011 “On safety of equipment operating in hazardous environments”.
Sometimes, complex devices and equipment consist of multiple Ex-proof components that have different explosion protection types. Such components can be installed in the equipment for the purpose of the functionality or to increase equipment’s explosion protection characteristics for specific hazardous environments.
Certificate EAC TR CU 012/2011 is typically issued for finished goods that will be supplied or sold in EAEU countries. The certificate is issued taking in account all Ex-proof components and explosion protection types of the finished product. Such Ex-proof components and explosion protection types are usually listed in the appendix to the EAC Certificate. All the Ex-proof components that composite the equipment, don’t need to be certified separately from each other.
Depending on the explosion protection type the cost of the Certificate EAC TR CU 012/2011 may vary, due to the fact that each specific Ex-proof protection requires specific laboratory testing to be conducted in order to confirm the compliance to the regulation. Therefore, the more Ex protection types the equipment has, the more expensive the EAC Certificate will be.
To identify the cost of a Certificate EAC TR CU 012/2011, ATEX or iECEx certificates of the product and its Ex-proof components may be required.
Production site audit and product sample testing are required to issue a Certificate EAC TR CU 012/2011.
