EAC TR CU 010/2011, TR CU 016/2011 for Gas Burners and Torches | WWG
Gas burners and torches supplied to EAEU countries (for example Russia), are subject to mandatory compliance with EAC technical regulations. EAC declaration and/or certificate should be obtained before burners and torches can be exported or sold to EAEU countries.
Depending on the type of a gas burner different EAC regulations may apply.
Industrial gas burners are subject to:
- TR CU 010/2011 “On safety of machines and equipment”
- TR CU 016/2011 “On safety of devices operating on gas fuel”
Industrial gas burners require a certificate TR CU 016 and a declaration TR CU 010 to fulfil necessary requirements.
Production site audit is required to obtain an EAC certificate for serial release. Typically, a certification expert from an accredited certification body travels to a production facility for 1 day to conduct an overview and to select product samples that will be sent to a laboratory for testing later on.
Consumer gas burners for domestic environment are subject to:
Domestic burners require an EAC certificate TR CU 016 to confirm the compliance. It is not necessary to obtain TR CU 010 documents for such burners, however, a decision of exemption from this TR CU may be obtained to prove that the product is exempted from this regulation.
Sometimes, if a burner contains electric components, a declaration TR CU 004 LVD and TR CU 020 EMC may be required.
In both cases a Safety Justification for a burner should be obtained, to fulfill the requirements of TR CU 010/2011. Safety Justification is a document containing analysis of possible risks as well as technical information on measures of ensuring safety of the equipment. According to Technical Regulations of the Customs Union, a Safety Justification is a mandatory document required for Declaration of conformity with Technical Regulation of the Customs Union “On safety of machinery and equipment” 010/2011.
It usually takes 5-15 working days to obtain an EAC declaration and a Safety Justification.
It takes 15-20 working days to receive the certificate after testing and production facility audit are conducted.
