EAC TR CU 004, TR CU 010, TR CU 020 for Food Production Units and SKIDs
Units, systems and SKIDs designed for production of food and/or drinks that are exported to EAEU countries, are subject to mandatory EAC TR CU compliance. An EAC Declaration should be obtained prior to exporting or selling the equipment to EAEU countries.
Production units, systems and SKIDs consist of multiple devices and components. Typically, system’s devices and components do not need to be certified separately from the system if the system is exported or sold as a whole under one HS code. Therefore, one EAC Declaration for the whole system is usually enough.
Food production units and SKIDs are subject to:
- TR CU 004/2011 “On safety of low voltage devices”
- TR CU 010/2011 “On safety of machines and equipment”
- TR CU 020/2011 “Electromagnetic compatibility of technical means”
Food Production Units and SKIDs require an EAC Declaration TR CU 004/2011 + 010/2011 + 020/2011, where 3 technical regulation are included altogether.
To issue a Declaration TR CU 004/2011 + 010/2011 + 020/2011, a Safety Justification should be obtained. Safety Justification is a document containing analysis of possible risks as well as technical information on measures of ensuring safety of the equipment. Safety Justification is a mandatory document required for all declarations and certificates related to Technical Regulation of the Customs Union 010/2011 “On safety of machinery and equipment”.
To issue these documents a manufacturer should provide:
- Signed applicant contract between manufacturer and local representative;
- Product manual in Russian;
- ISO certificate (if available);
- Certificates and declarations of conformity with the EU Directives (if available).
It usually takes 5-15 working days to obtain an EAC Declaration and a Safety Justification.
