EAC TR CU 004 Certification of Exciters and Excitation Panels
Prior to exporting and selling excitation panels to countries of Eurasian Customs Union (Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Armenia and Kyrgyzstan), the panels need to receive documents that prove their conformity to EAC regulations.
Excitation panels are subject to:
Excitation panels are classified as complete low voltage devices. Therefore, such panels require an EAC certificate of conformity to TR CU 004/2011.
Factory site audit is required to obtain an EAC certificate TR CU 004/2011. Usually, a certification expert from an accredited certification body travels to a production facility for 1 day to conduct an overview and to select product samples that will be sent to a laboratory for testing afterwards. Currently, because of the pandemic site audit can be conducted remotely using online vide conference.
Depending on technical characteristics of the panel, testing may be conducted on manufacturer’s production facility or only in Russian laboratory. One of the main characteristics that are taken in account to determine the opportunity of outside testing are panel size and current rate.
Once production site audit and testing are conducted, it takes 10-20 working days to register and issue an EAC certificate.
It is important to keep in mind that after an EAC certificate is issued, the certification body that issued the certificate needs to conduct annual inspection control to maintain the validity of the certificate. Annual inspection control is conducted by a mean of factory audit or sample testing every year after the certificate is issued. An EAC certificate issued for 5 years requires 4 inspection controls to be conducted.
